According to a report by the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offload both Juan Foyth and Ryan Sessegnon as the club and Daniel Levy pursue Milan Skriniar, with the Lilywhites duo chosen to make way as negotiations continue to unfold. 

Indeed, the Inter Milan star is apparently top of Jose Mourinho’s wish list as Spurs continue their desperate bid to sign a much-needed centre-back, but Mirror journalist John Cross reported that both clubs are still miles apart in terms of valuation.

The Serie A giants value Skriniar at around £50m and Levy is apparently unwilling to go that high, with recent reports claiming that Spurs are even considering the possibility of swapping Tanguy Ndombele in an effort to lower the price (TUTTOmercatoWEB via Sport Witness).

Cross has now claimed that the two clubs are still some way off completing a deal, as supported by Sky Sports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who claims that a decision will be ‘made soon’.

In an effort to recuperate funds and invest in a potential deal for the Slovakian colossus, it appears that both Foyth and Sessegnon could be sacrificed (the latter on loan) to make space, as per this latest update.

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein recently hinted that Tottenham need to sell before they can buy again, with Serge Aurier, Danny Rose and Paulo Gazzaniga being other names on the chopping block.

Lauded as ‘incredible’, the 31-cap Slovakia international certainly has a few admirers and could be worth the investment, especially considering that Spurs let club legend Jan Vertonghen leave on a free transfer with no adequate replacement.

Newcastle United are set to rival Manchester United for the signing of Federico Chiesa in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to La Nazione (via Sport Witness).

As per the outlet, the Fiorentina ace may move away from Italy for a fee of at least €60m, which equates to around £53.7m.

However, there is not yet an indication as to just how much the Tyneside club are willing to put on the table, but La Nazione believe that they will overtake the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus for his signature.

This is pending the proposed takeover in the northeast, though, as the Premier League are yet to approve of the £300m deal between Mike Ashley and Amanda Staveley’s Saudi Arabian-led group.

Chiesa is enjoying a relatively impressive 2019/20 season so far, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 30 games in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

Comparing the Fiorentina winger to the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Christian Atsu and Matt Ritchie in their respective domestic leagues so far in this campaign, Chiesa has netted the most strikes as well as averaging more shots in Serie A (per Whoscored).

The 22-year old could prove to be a valuable addition at St James’ Park if he moves to Newcastle and can replicate his Serie A form in English football, but the potentially extortionate price tag would arguably put a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

Nevertheless, if the Magpies can beat the likes of Manchester United, Inter and Juventus for his services, then it promises to be a real coup for the Toon Army.

As datas para os jogos das semifinais do Campeonato Pernambucano foram divulgadas nesta segunda-feira pela Federação Pernambucana de Futebol (FPF). As partidas de ida acontecerão nos dias 20 e 21 de abril. Já as de volta, no dia próximo dia 24.

O primeiro confronto entre Santa Cruz e Náutico acontece no dia 20 de abril, uma quarta-feira, às 21h45, no Arruda. Já Sport e Salgueiro medem forças pela primeira vez por uma vaga na final da competição de 2016 no dia 21, às 16h, na Ilha do Retiro.

A federação colocou o jogo do Leão em outra data propositalmente, para evitar dois jogos paralelamente em Recife. E o jogo contra o Salgueiro foi marcado para às 16h porque cai no Dia de Tiradentes (feriado nacional).

Os jogos de volta serão na mesma data e horário: 24 de abril, às 16h. O Náutico encara o Santa Cruz na Arena Pernambuco. Já o Salgueiro vai pegar o Leão no estádio Cornélio de Barros, no Sertão pernambucano.

Newcastle are reportedly interested in Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka but he is a transfer target that some fans aren’t keen on.

The troubled midfielder was stripped of the Arsenal captaincy earlier this week after a dispute with fans in the match against Crystal Palace, and The Times report that he will likely request a move away if he is left out of the next few matches.

It is believed the Magpies would seek a short-term deal as that would suit all parties involved, allowing them to pay just a portion of his £100,000-a-week wage, but despite that supporters still aren’t keen.

Some suggest he wouldn’t be an upgrade on what they currently have, comparing him to the likes Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey.

Interestingly, none raise the point of the bad attitude he displayed against his own fans, and are looking at things merely from a footballing perspective.

Isco is one of those Real Madrid players that is slowly but surely fading into obscurity.

The now 27-year-old Spaniard no longer enjoys a major role in the club but according to AS, some big Premier League fish, such as Manchester City and Arsenal, are extremely interested in his services.

What’s the word, then?

Life didn’t use to be so harsh for Isco in the Spanish capital.

A couple of years back, he was one of the most important players Real Madrid had in their squad. After all, we’re talking about a former star who started in ten out of 12 Champions League clashes and 21 La Liga games just two seasons ago and then abruptly faded into the background.

Of course, injuries did play their part as he has already missed a total of six games in the ongoing 2019/20 campaign and was absent for ten in 2018/19 due to various different issues.

By all accounts, luck hasn’t been on his side for a while but if the reports from AS are true, and Isco wants to reignite his career in order to be ready for the national team’s ventures, he should make the most out of Manchester City and Arsenal’s interest.

AS claim that both Pep Guardiola and Unai Emery are really fond of the Spaniard and, if that proves to be true, this could be huge for the 27-year-old and he shouldn’t let this opportunity pass him by.

A new beginning

Not many players in modern football are lucky enough to get second chances.

Even though Isco is still a well-known name within the Real Madrid squad, the fact that he is no longer a key part of the team definitely doesn’t look good on his resume.

But the reported interest from the likes of Guardiola and Emery is exactly what the good doctor had prescribed and what his career is currently missing.

It could reinstall that long-forgotten spark that he used to carry in his performances.

AS mention that the Galacticos are keen on letting certain players go in order to land some other major targets but that is definitely good news for the Spaniard – his club seemingly won’t stand in his way.

From his point of view, and from Real Madrid’s as well, this is a no-brainer.

Not to mention that these opportunities often don’t come knocking twice.
