أعلن الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم “يويفا” عن نقل نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا للموسم الحالي 2020/2021 بين مانشستر سيتي وتشيلسي إلى البرتغال.

وأكد “يويفا” في بيانه الرسمي أن ملعب “دراجاو” الخاص بنادي بورتو هو من سيستضيف نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا بدلًا من “أتاتورك” في مدينة “إسطنبول” بـ “تركيا” في 29 مايو الجاري.

وأفاد البيان الرسمي أن كلاً من مانشستر سيتي وتشيلسي سيحق لجماهيرهما حضور المباراة بحد أقصى 6000 مشجع.

الجدير بالذكر أن هذه هي المرة الثانية على التوالي التي يتم نقل المباراة من ملعب “أتاتورك” بعدما أقيمت البطولة من دور الثمانية في البرتغال بالموسم الماضي حتى النهائي بسبب فيروس كورونا.

ويأتي السبب وراء نقل المباراة من “إسطنبول” بسبب الإجراءات الاحترازية الشديدة التي تعاني منها المدينة بسبب فيروس كورونا والتي ستمنع الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم من تنظيم النهائي.

It’s not surprising that the Elland Road don’t want to see Saiz back at Elland Road due to the fact that he left the club on poor terms as one fan claimed that he sulked when he wasn’t picked.

Before he departed, he had a number of complaints about living in England and he was subsequentlyÂsent back to Spain.

Some United supporters on social media simply don’t believe he’s talented enough to get into the team anymore.

One called him a bang average player, while another simply reminded the person asking the question that the club chose to sell him.

It’s quite damning that, following Monday night’s match at Bramall Lane, “Wenger” was trending on Twitter – with most tweeting under the hashtag questioning whether the club has progressed away from his rule.

It’d be interesting to see how many of the proverbial pitchfork-wielding “Wenger out” campaigns are now regretting their decision. The grass is always greener, as they say.

In life, if someone does something wrong, it’s always better that they then apologise for their wrongdoing and show remorse. Unfortunately for Arsenal fans, Emery didn’t seem to get the memo.

And for all those waiting patiently for some sign of remorse in his post-match interview, or at least acknowledgement of how poorly the Gunners played, they were left without as he tried desperately to convince himself and the footballing world that the Gunners deserved a point at the very least.

Needless to say, most reacted very, very negatively…

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes the issues facing Tottenham Hotspur at present are down to ego – accusing some Spurs players of getting greedy on the back of their recent achievements.

Spurs reached their first-ever Champions League final last season, but are a shadow of that side at the moment, with the weekend’s defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion set to stretch their wait for an away league win to nine months.

Fowler believes Spurs’ relative success and subsequent slump is something he has seen many times – and in his column for the Daily Mirror, suggested that the fundamental issue at the club is one of greediness.

He said: “It is clearer than ever Tottenham are in a real mess. They’re just not the same team, there isn’t the same togetherness as last season.

“It’s a fundamental problem that’s long been coming. I’ve seen it so many times in football, and it’s always based around ego.

“You get players – you get teams – who when they start winning… some of the people involved start to get a bit greedy.

“Sides like [Manchester] City and Liverpool – and I’d put the Spurs of last season in this category – no matter how good their ‘stars’ are, they are still a collective greater than the sum of their parts.

“Yet you are rewarded individually, and the biggest rewards go to the biggest stars.

“I see at Spurs, players getting greedy, not just for what they can earn, but for acclaim, too.

“Sometimes, people just get greedy in football.

Fowler may claim to have seen this all before, though his comments may have carried more weight had he foreseen the woes Spurs are experiencing at the height of their European escapades last season.

Now, his accusation of the Spurs players being greedy seems more like the best guess he could come up with.

What if Spurs simply overachieved last season (as some had suggested in recent days)? It seems quite unfair for Fowler to pin his own experiences onto this Spurs team, who may just require change (as others have considered to be the case this weekend) to get back to where they once were.

Or perhaps that’s too harsh on Fowler – though the weeks and months to come should tell us who has called it right about Spurs.

Aston Villa fans have shown their concern about the current state of affairs after their side once again squandered points at home to draw with Burnley on Saturday.

Anwar El Ghazi gave Villa the lead at home in the first-half but Jay Rodriguez equalised in the 68th minute.

A flurry of action followed, with John McGinn scoring two minutes before Villa were pegged back again by Chris Wood.

Smith’s men have won just once in the league in 2018/19, beating Everton 2-0 in August, but have lost to Tottenham Hotspur, AFC Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Arsenal, while also drawing with West Ham United and Villa.

Fans, perhaps understandably, are growing worried about the club’s results, and they face an important run of fixtures in October; they will play fellow promoted team Norwich City, Brighton & Hove Albion and reigning champions Manchester City.

And supporters have been quick to express their disillusionment and concern at their current predicament.

ومن المقرر أن يلتقي الأهلي مع الزمالك، في تمام السادسة مساء غداً الاثنين، في قمة الجولة الـ 11 في ختام الدور الأول، من نهائيات الدورى الممتاز للموسم المحلى 2020 / 2021.

الزمالك يتصدر ترتيب الدوري برصيد 29 نقطة، فيما يتواجد الأهلي في المركز الثانى برصيد 25 نقطة.

Leeds have started the season in brilliant form, winning three of their opening four Championship matches.

It’s a record that mirrors how they began the 2018/19 term and Patrick Bamford has been particularly important so far.

He has three goals, two of which came against Wigan whilst he also netted on the opening weekend in a clash with Bristol City too.

Yet, he can still have an impact on the game even when he’s not finding the back of the net.

On the chalkboard

Against Brentford on Wednesday, Leeds struggled to create too many clear cut opportunities as Bamford was restricted to just two shots in the whole game.

In total, the Whites managed eight key passes as it took them until the 81st minute to actually find the net.

Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah linked up brilliantly as the former surged forward to the byline before playing a ball across goal which was converted.

But the role Nketiah’s strike partner had in the goal was equally as important, proving why Leeds can still score goals even if the 25-year-old isn’t finding the net himself.

Bamford has shown improved fitness levels this season, something backed up by claims from Noel Whelan this week who was impressed with his ability to chase back.

However, this time he was racing forward in the final ten minutes, not showing a lack of energy.

His movement was particularly vital here.

He and Nketiah effectively started in the same position just beyond the halfway line but as the latter moved to the back post, Bamford held back and then made a quick dart to the front stick instead.

This was intelligent from the former Middlesbrough man as he dragged the defender inside the six-yard box towards him, which ultimately meant that there was a space for Costa to slide the ball across.

Had Bamford not been there then it’s highly unlikely Nketiah would have been granted the space to find Leeds’ winner.

Playing the two together is sure to guarantee a larger goal threat, but Bamford may not even have to score to ensure this happens.

Paulo Dybala’s partner may play a key role in his move from Juventus to Tottenham Hotspur, per The Daily Mail.

What’s the word?

Spurs, the report claims, have reached an agreement with Juve to sign Dybala for a fee of £69m ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The Argentina international is said to be open to the prospect of playing under Mauricio Pochettino in north London, though he would like a wage of £300,000-per-week, a deal that would make him the club’s highest-paid player.

Indeed, The Mail claims that Dybala’s partner, Oriana Sabatini, is keen to live in the capital, though he would have to accept a reduced wage to make the move happen.

Juventus are said to be keen to move the 25-year-old on as they seek to raise funds for a move for Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku.

This could be Spurs’ secret weapon.

Indeed, Manchester United courted Dybala but the Red Devils ultimately pulled out due to his wage demands and issues over image rights, per reports.

However, the prospect of living in London seems to appeal to Dybala’s significant other and that could sway things in Spurs’ direction.

Of course, an agreement still needs to be reached but one feels that the influence of his partner will have a significant impact on proceedings.

The Premier League side do not have long to seal the deal, particularly with the deadline coming on Thursday, but family matters may see them complete an impressive coup.

Celtic fans are relieved to be facing either CFR Cluj or Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the next round of the Champions League qualifiers, should they get there.

Neil Lennon’s men will have to navigate Estonian champions Nomme Kalju first in the second round, which will be played over the course of the next seven days, but the fans are already looking forward to the third-round draw.

The Hoops welcome the side to Parkhead on Wednesday, with the return leg next Tuesday, and they should realistically be able to see off Nomme Kalju, who are currently fourth in the Estonian Meistriliiga, some 12 points off the top of the division.

Should they get through they will meet either of Cluj or Maccabi Tel-Aviv. The draw has been fairly kind to those of a green and white persuasion, as they avoided Greek champions PAOK.

The Greek side, who went unbeaten last year, drew Champions League semi-finalists Ajax in a mouth-watering tie, while the Bhoys will face last year’s league winners from either Romania or Israel.
