تنوي رابطة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز إلغاء جولة المباريات المعتادة في الفترة بين البوكسينج داي ورأسة السنة الميلادية الجديدة، بسبب نهائيات كأس العالم في قطر 2022.

ومن المقرر أن تعلن رابطة الدوري الإنجليزي صباح غدًا الخميس جدول مباريات الموسم الجديد من البطولة، 2022/23.

وستشهد النسخة الجديدة من الدوري الإنجليزي ارتباكًا بسبب مونديال قطر، والذي سيُقام في الفترة بين 21 نوفمبر و18 ديسمبر من العام الحالي.

وحسبما ذكرت صحيفة “تليجراف” الإنجليزية، فإن النسخة القادمة من الدوري الإنجليزي لن تشهد الجولة الاحتفالية المعتادة لمباريات الدوري الإنجليزي بين يوم البوكسينج داي ورأسة السنة الميلادية الجديدة.

وأوضحت أنه كان هناك مخاوف من أن تأتي مباريات البوكسينج داي بعد ثمانية أيام فقط من نهائي كأس العالم.

من المقرر أن يتم اتخاذ إجراء في تلك المباريات التي تُلعب عادة في 28 ديسمبر أو بالقرب من ذلك التاريخ، وسيتم تغييرها من أجل مصلحة اللاعبين الذين يتنافسون في قطر.

من المتوقع أن يعلن الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز في قوائم مبارياته يوم الخميس، أن التقويم الاحتفالي سيشمل الآن فقط مباريات البوكسينج داي ويوم رأس السنة الجديدة ويوم 2 يناير.

ليس من المتوقع حدوث أي تأثير على كأس الاتحاد الإنجليزي، والتي من المتوقع أن تستمر مع أول عطلة نهاية أسبوع كاملة لها في يناير.

وسيقضي اللاعبون صيفًا أقصر بسبب افتتاح موسم الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز القادم في 6 أغسطس، مع انطلاق مباراة كأس الدرع الخيرية 2022 بين مانشستر سيتي وليفربول في نهاية يوليو.

سيستمر الدوري الممتاز حتى الجولة السادسة عشر من 12 إلى 13 نوفمبر قبل انطلاق كأس العالم في قطر.

Graham Roberts reckons that Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu could become Tottenham’s right-back.

Tomiyasu, who’s been representing Japan at the Olympic Games, only to be knocked out by Bryan Gil’s Spain at the semi-final stage, had been reported to be on the verge of a move to north London.

Tomiyasu featured twice in Tokyo, both as a central defender, but can play anywhere across the back-four, and started at right-back 14 times in Serie A last season.

Tottenham currently have two right-backs in Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier, but the Ivorian’s future at the club remains in serious doubt following previous comments about wanting to return to PSG.

Aurier is yet to appear in pre-season, whilst Doherty played 64 minutes against MK Dons last week, which should give the Irishman the nod ahead of the start of the season.

If Aurier does depart, Nuno Espirito Santo will need to add another right-back to his squad, and Roberts exclusively told Football FanCast that his departure could open the door for Tomiyasu to competitive to become first-choice:

“I think they might bring in three of four, [defenders] and I think he might be the right-back.”

Duje Caleta-Car should seal his long-awaited switch to the Premier League by joining Southampton instead of West Ham United, according to Get French Football News’ Adam White.

West Ham have been long-term admirers of Marseille’s Caleta-Car and the 6 ft 4 Croatia international turned down a move to east London last year.

Despite the setback, Caleta-Car remains on the Hammers’ radar, along with Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma, as boss David Moyes looks to add further reinforcements to his side before the transfer window slams shut.

However, West Ham face competition for Caleta-Car’s services as Premier League rivals Southampton are also keeping tabs on the 24-year-old.

Saints’ interest comes after Denmark international Jannik Vestergaard, who had entered the final 12 months of his contract at St Mary’s, sealed a £15million move to Leicester City last week.

Caleta-Car is yet to make an appearance for Ligue 1 outfit Marseille this season and French football expert White believes he would be a better fit for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton squad than West Ham if he did decide to move to the Premier League.

He told Football FanCast: “At Southampton, he could be in a position to do more of the type of defending he is good at [than at West Ham], which is using his physicality, reading of play and his ability in the air.

“He’s probably a slightly better fit at Southampton and I can see that happening.”

His charges lost both four-day games and all three one-day matches against the visiting Pakistan Cricket Academy (PCA) recently after squandering the advantage on several occasions during the series.”It shows the boys are not experienced. When you get into strong positions you need guys that are experienced to kill off the game,” he told Zimbabwe’s . “Our guys don’t play enough longer-version games. The remedy here is to play more international four-day games. You must have consistency. If you only get to play again after six months it’s like you are starting afresh. We must be careful not to kill the momentum.”Mangongo was satisfied that both first-class matches went into the final day. “It shows that the boys can apply themselves. In the second game, we scored 300 runs plus in two innings after being bowled for less than 200 in the first,” he said. “In fact, we saw quite a few 50s from guys like Bornaparte [Mujuru], Timycen [Maruma], Regis [Chakabva] and Friday [Kasteni]. So you definitely can see on the graph that the boys are learning the demands of Test cricket.”One major difference between the PCA matches and previous home series was that the Zimbabwe Board XI side wasn’t packed with national team members, giving second-string players a taste of international cricket. “For a country to do well, you need variety. In the past we used to have national team players also playing in the A and Board XI sides. This tour was a positive change because almost all the guys were development players.”The other positive that Mangongo drew from the series was the performance of the bowlers in the one-dayers. “In all three games, we took out the top batsmen. In terms of strike bowling the boys did well,” he said. “What was disappointing was the batting, but in the last match we got into good positions twice. So there was improvement.”

Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former Pakistan captain who now plays for the ICL, is optimistic the country’s president, Asif Ali Zardari, will help resolve the issue between the league’s players and the PCB.The Pakistan board, acting in accordance to the BCCI’s wishes, banned all Pakistani players in the ICL from representing regional teams as well as the national side. But Inzamam said he met Pakistan’s law minister Farooq Naek and told him the ICL contracts gave top priority to national duty and the league was willing to release a player if he was selected to play for the country.”Mr Naek heard us out and even had a look at our contracts,” Inzamam told the . “Then the law minister had a word with Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari about our request. The president has said he will meet the ICL players and the board and try to sort the issue out. I am hoping for a positive result.”Inzamam said players like Imran Nazir and Abdul Razzaq could still play for Pakistan and there was no reason to ignore them just because they played for the ICL. The ICL’s second season starts on Saturday with hosts Hyderabad Heroes taking on the Lahore Badshahs, led by Inzamam.

Christie only has a few months left on his current Celtic contract, which runs until Jan 1, 2022, with the Daily Record also reporting that Postecoglou has said that he would like Celtic to get Christie tied down to a new contract.

After turning around their fortunes in the Scottish Premiership, Celtic travel to AZ Alkmaar for their Europa League qualifying play-off second leg on Thursday. The Hoops travel to the Netherlands with a 2-0 lead and will be hoping to complete the job and get into the Europa League group stages.
