Na última vez, o humor não era o dos melhores por conta da fase terrível do Vasco dentro de campo, além de ter sido agredido com um tapa por um torcedor vascaíno. Agora, porém, mudou completamente. Bem-humorado, foi apenas sorrisos na quinta-feira, em Pinheiral, indo de encontro com a harmonia do elenco para fazer o Vasco voltar à elite. Mas o zagueiro não se satisfaz: quer nota dez, o que ainda não crê estar.

– De “dez” do que o Jorginho está trabalhando, acho que conseguimos chegar no “seis”. Hoje (ontem) foi a primeira vez que realmente abriu o campo todo. Ele vinha treinando em campo reduzido – disse o zagueiro Rodrigo para completar:

– Em cima daquilo que ele está trabalhando, nós conseguimos fazer. Temos que aprimorar mais. Ele fez algumas trocas, está pensando nisso. Na hora que ele tiver o padrão de jogo, vai ficar melhor. Tudo o que ele está fazendo nos treinamentos vai nos ajudar bastante.

Aoesar de ser o mais experiente do elenco, Rodrigo se vê ano passado sem paciência, ao lado dos outros jogadores do Vasco. O zagueiro destacou que este ponto está sendo trabalhado pelo técnico Jorginho para que o 2016 seja proveitoso:

– Hoje nós temos um time e é o mais importante. Em 2015, tivemos que formar isso, chegaram jogadores no meio do torneio. Sofremos muito ano passado, estávamos sem paciência para chegar até o gol. Hoje nós estamos com mais paciência

O trabalho nesta pré-temporada não deixa apenas Rodrigo sorrindo, e sim a torcida. A missão, agora, é manter o sorriso até dezembro.

مانشستر سيتي يلاقي إيفرتون على ملعب “الاتحاد”، بالجولة الثانية عشر من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وذكرت شبكة “أوبتا” العالمية للأرقام والإحصائيات، أن ستيرلينج وصل إلى المباراة رقم 300 مباراة له في الدوري الإنجليزي مع مانشستر سيتي.

وأوضحت الشبكة أن ستيرلينج بعمر 26 عامًا و348 يومًا أصبح رابع أصغر لاعب يصل إلى هذا العدد من المباريات في الدوري الإنجليزي.

وأشارت الشبكة إلى أنه من سبق ستيرلينج كان الثلاثي واين روني، جيمس ميلنر بجانب جاريث باري.

ستيرلينج انتقل إلى صفوف مانشستر سيتي قبل 6 سنوات في 2015، من ليفربول مقابل 60 مليون جنيه إستيرليني.

ستيرلينج في 300 مباراة بالدوري الإنجليزي تمكن من إحراز 98 هدفًا وقدم 51 تمريرة حاسمة.

Curtis Jones produced another superb display for Liverpool in their 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night and with the 19-year-old having now established himself as a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s side, you wonder whether the German manager could lose patience with fellow midfielder Naby Keita.

The Guinean has endured his fair share of injury problems since joining the Merseyside club from RB Leipzig in 2018, which have meant that he has never really been able to enjoy a run of games in the first-team.

The midfielder has made just 70 appearances in two and a half years with the club, in which he has contributed seven goals and four assists.

Jones meanwhile, who only made his first-team debut in September 2019, has now played 28 times for the first-team, with six goals and two assists to his name and Klopp is clearly a huge fan, having labelled the youngster an “exceptional talent” earlier this season.

The fact that the academy graduate is just one goal off equalling Keita’s goal record with the club in significantly fewer games suggests that, on current form, he should be starting ahead of the 25-year-old.

In six Premier League appearances so far this season, Keita has averaged a disappointing 6.37 rating, whilst Jones has earned a 6.70 average rating for his performances in the top-flight.

Therefore, Klopp should consider axing Keita in the near future, as unfortunately, he has never really been able to find his feet at the Merseyside club, and once the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Thiago return from injury, you worry that he will slip even further down the pecking order.

Virgil van Dijk was full of praise for the midfielder earlier in the year, saying:

“Naby is a fantastic guy, he works so hard and he is an outstanding football player. We see it week in and week out. He has unfortunately been unlucky with some injuries, but hopefully, he can stay fully fit for the next season.

“I think he is world-class if I’m absolutely honest. I see all the moments when he has the ball, the smart moves, the smart intelligence. It’s just incredible to see and I’m very happy for him.”

Unfortunately, Keita has not been able to showcase that ability on a consistent enough basis during his time with Liverpool and the superb performances of Jones in recent weeks could perhaps be the final nail in the coffin for the Guinean international.

This is a perplexing period for Sunderland, one that won’t end for another week.

The Academy of Light has been closed due to COVID-19 until the 27th December so the players and staff will experience a rare Christmas at home.

Although the players won’t be busy, senior club officials will be drawing up a shortlist of January targets.

What’s the word?

Sunderland have one clear ambition for the upcoming transfer window – to sign someone who can stretch the play.

Jack Diamond has helped Lee Johnson in that aspect but it remains a priority to find a goal scorer besides Charlie Wyke.

Could they find that in the form of a Premier League talent? Quite possibly. Prospective buyer William Storey revealed this week that he has ambitions of bringing in a select group of U23 players currently at sides in the Premier League. That’s presuming he seals a deal with Stewart Donald.

The Sunderland Echo speculated who might be on the Black Cats’ list heading into January and one name that stood out was Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun.

The Echo explained that a number of Championship clubs would be interested in the striker’s services but he was certainly in the mould of player that Sunderland would be looking at.

Superb acquisition

Make no mistake about it, Balogun is still relatively untested at professional level.

However, the early signs we’ve seen are phenomenal. The American-born forward has scored twice for the Gunners in the Europa League this term, netting against Dundalk and Molde while he has found the net regularly for Arsenal’s youth sides.

The 19-year-old has bagged 38 times in 41 outings for the U18s and has developed well at U23 level too, finding the net on 17 occasions in the same number of games throughout his career.

Balogun’s playing days are still embryonic but he’s been compared to some of the best attackers we’ve seen in the English game.

Speaking about the teenager on BT Sport this season (via The Daily Mail), Martin Keown compared him to an ex-Sunderland player: “The way he linked up, that is a great turn. You try to compare, is it Andy Cole or Ian Wright? There is that sort of movement about him. I know those are big-name players and if he can live up to that he will have some career.”

That’s an incredibly exciting quote and leads us to believe he could fix one of Johnson’s biggest issues. Mikel Arteta described the player as “really lively” earlier this term and he brings pace and movement in abundance – something Wyke, Will Grigg and Danny Graham don’t necessarily offer.

In the EFL trophy this term, Balogun has amassed 1.5 dribbles per game which usurps every single player at Sunderland barring Diamond.

Possessing the ability to run in behind and stretch defences, he’d be a fabulous capture.

AND in other news, Storey would be staring at a Rodwell-like DISASTER if Sunderland sign ace with “big energy”…

A temporada 2016 mal começou para o Fluminense, mas a situação do técnico Eduardo Baptista já não é tão confortável à frente da equipe. Sem nenhuma vitória em três jogos disputados entre Flórida Cup e Primeira Liga, o treinador soma apenas 33,3% de aproveitamento como comandante tricolor. Desde que assumiu a equipe, no último trimestre de 2015, foram apenas cinco vitórias, quatro empates e dez derrotas.

A situação, porém, não parece preocupar tanto o treinador, que destacou uma evolução do time nos primeiros trabalhos da temporada, e espera manter a base para que a equipe alcance, o mais rápido possível, o entrosamento necessário.

– Estamos trabalhando para dar continuidade, montamos uma grande equipe, tivemos uma resposta boa. Se faz o pênalti, muda o jogo, fica 2 a 1, ficaria tudo bem, mas o futebol é assim. Temos de ter tranquilidade, e não é por causa de um resultado que tem que mudar tudo. O time tem atuado bem – lembrou o treinador, que não deve mexer na equipe para o jogo contra o Volta Redonda:

– Temos de dar sequência, quanto menos mexer, melhor. O time não teve uma performance ruim, faltou finalizações. Tem que pontuar, mas não deve mudar muito…

A última vez que Eduardo Baptista comemorou um triunfo foi há mais de dois meses, no dia 22 de novembro, quando o Tricolor venceu o Avaí, por 3 a 1, no Estádio Kleber Andrade. Por coincidência, foi a última vez que Fred balançou as redes.

Eduardo Baptista chegou ao Fluminense após bom trabalho diante do Sport, substituindo o demitido Enderson Moreira, que não teve bons resultados na segunda passagem dele pelo Tricolor das Laranjeiras. Enderson comandou a equipe em 26 oportunidades – entre Campeonato Brasileiro e Copa do Brasil –, com 11 vitórias, quatro empates e outras 11 derrotas. Na ocasião, o treinador somou um aproveitamento de 34,2%.

Uma vitória contra o Volta Redonda, na estreia do Tricolor no Campeonato Carioca, pode deixar a vida do treinador um pouco mais tranquila neste início de temporada. A torcida agradece!

Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for PSG forward Kylian Mbappe and the Frenchman could be the man to take Jurgen Klopp’s side to the next level.

What’s the word?

According to Spanish news publication Sport (via Express) Klopp has been in contact with the 22-year-old in the hopes of convincing him to make the move to Anfield, having dreamed of signing him for a long time now.

The former Monaco man’s contract with PSG is set to expire in the summer of 2022 and if no extension is agreed, Mbappe could well be made available for transfer by Les Parisiens.

The man to evolve Liverpool’s attack?

Liverpool’s attack has won a lot of praise in recent years, with the trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino often referred to as the best front three in world football.

The summer arrival of Diogo Jota only improved this attack further, with the Portuguese international starting his Reds career in sensational form before his unfortunate injury.

Firmino is, of course, integral to this Liverpool side and is brilliant at the job he does but it could definitely be argued that Klopp is lacking an out-and-out striker such as Mbappe who can cause problems with his incredible pace.

It did seem as if the Merseyside club were in the market for this sort of forward, as they were heavily linked with Timo Werner before his move to Chelsea, although based on current form they might be glad they avoided him.

However, Mbappe’s superb record with PSG speaks for itself, as in 142 appearances for the club, the £162 million-rated striker has managed 104 goals and 57 assists.

Fellow superstar Neymar was full of praise for the young striker after he scored an incredible four goals in 13 minutes when he was just 19-years-old, saying:

“For me he’s a phenomenon. I hope it will continue like that for several years because football will thank him.”

Certainly, in recent fixtures, Liverpool’s attack has definitely been missing a spark that someone such as Mbappe could provide, as they have managed just one goal against West Brom, Newcastle and Southampton.

Firmino will turn 30 this year and the Reds must start looking to the future, as they did with the signing of Jota, and the French World Cup-winner could prove to be a top player for the Merseyside club for the next decade.

Therefore, sporting director Michael Edwards must do everything he can to bring Mbappe to Anfield, as it’s clear that Klopp is a big fan of the Frenchman, and he could definitely evolve this Liverpool attack.

كشف عامر حسين رئيس لجنة المسابقات في رابطة الأندية المحترفة، عن مقترحه بشأن أزمة تعارض مواعيد بطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا القادمة في الكاميرون، مع كأس العالم للأندية.

وكان الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم قد أعلن انطلاق كأس العالم للأندية في الفترة بين 3 حتى 12 من شهر فبراير من العام المقبل 2022، مع هذا الموعد ايضاً ستقام مباريات المراحل الإقصائية من بطولة كأس الأمم الإفريقية.

وقال حسين خلال تصريحات عبر برنامج “ملعب أون تايم” على قناة “أون تايم سبورتس”: “قدمت أحد الحلول في الاتحاد الإفريقي اليوم بأن يتم تقديم موعد كأس الأمم إلى شهر يناير، لعدم تعارضه مع مونديال الأندية”.

وتابع: “هذا حل صعب لأن ذلك سيتسبب في مشكلة للأندية الأوروبية التي ستستغنى عن المحترفين الأفارقة”.

وأضاف: “أشعر أن هناك مشكلة في الكاميرون وأن البطولة سيتم تأجيلها من الأساس”.
