Now that the disappointment has just about been forgotten (we hope), all focus is on Marcelo Bielsa and whether he will stay for next season. Marching on together, and all that. 

Clearly, while disappointed, the fans are totally onside with him remaining at Elland Road, because of how much he has improved Leeds in a short space of time. If he was to get full backing in the transfer market as well, there is no reason why the Whites couldn’t push for promotion under him again.

To be fair, it’s not as if the squad was full to the brim of top talent, so a bit of backing in the market over the course of the summer could surely see the Whites finally see the job through when it comes to winning promotion back to the Premier League.

So, in terms of transfers, Leeds have already been linked with plenty but one that stands (as per the Sun) out more than most is a re-union with Fabian Delph. The England man, (who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt) started his career with Leeds before moving to Aston Villa in 2009.

Since then, he has become Manchester City’s versatility man, helping out in almost every position needed and winning every trophy in the country along the way. Indeed, in his time at the Etihad, he has played midfield and left-back and could, therefore, be helpful to Leeds in more than one way.

Still, having been limited to 20 appearances in all competitions this term, Delph (a proud Yorkshireman, of course) could favour a move away in a bid to sustain regular game-time. Leeds could certainly offer him that but it’s whether he wants to come back to Elland Road, rather than staying in the Premier League with other clubs that have registered their interest.

With just 12 months left on his contract, Man City would probably rather recoup a fee, rather than utilising him for another season and then letting him go on a free. Yes, it’s ambitious, but an emotional return could be exactly the kind of boost needed to get over what happened against Derby.

Clearly, it would be some coup and one Leeds would have to work incredibly hard to try and push through but what a magnificent signing and statement it would be.

It goes without saying that the former Celtic man is up their with the coolest players in the Premier League, both on and off the pitch.

Whether he’s picking up his PFA Player of the Year award in a tuxedo and bow tie, or strolling past hapless attackers with that luscious man bun of his, you just know what you’re getting with the 27-year-old.

But has it always been this way?

On the evidence that we’re about to show you, most would say it probably hasn’t.

Who knows, if the back-to-back Champions League finalist carried on in this clog-wearing vein throughout his career, would he be in the lofty position in football that he currently is?

Probably not, as nobody would want to be seen dead alongside him whilst he’s wearing those monstrosities, let alone sign him to play for their football club.

The Belgium international (who is valued at £19.8 million on Transfermarkt) enjoyed a brilliant loan spell with Leicester City from January onwards this season.

He was always dubbed as a midfielder with fantastic potential and his short stint in England has proven just that.

With three goals and five assists in just 13 Premier League matches, Tielemans was one of the star signings of the season, despite spending a matter of months in a Leicester shirt.

As a younger player at the age of 22, the Belgium prodigy would fit very nicely into Man City’s midfield, seeing as he already has the resounding qualities that could make him a success at the Etihad.

£40 million is how much Tielemans could cost (also per The Sun), nothing that would unsettle City’s enormous budget, so a deal should seriously be considered.

While the end of Watford’s season was a disappointing one with that 6-0 thrashing in the FA Cup final to Manchester City epitomising that, it was still a very good campaign for the Hornets.

Overall, Javi Gracia did an excellent job, taking his side that far in the domestic cup while challenging for a Europa League spot in the Premier League.

And it appears Gracia’s work has not gone unnoticed, with ESPN reporting that Chelsea are eyeing up the Spaniard as a potential successor to Maurizio Sarri.

Gracia, though, would be wise to rebuff any advances that come his way from the west London club.

Sure, the Chelsea job has its appeal. Champions League football, the chance to work with better players, more money, the list goes on. But it is an unstable one. Gracia would be swapping security for a role he would probably not be able to hold onto for longer than six months.

As for Chelsea, do they really want to be hiring another manager who lacks that winning pedigree given how supporters took to the last one? Sarri has managed to deliver the club its sixth piece of European silverware, and there are still supporters who do not think he is worthy of the Stamford Bridge dugout.

For all involved, this potential move does not look like it will work out for anyone. Gracia should stay at Watford and Chelsea should simply look elsewhere.
