Celtic were linked with Paris FC striker Silas Wamangituka over the weekend as the club’s need for more striking options becomes clearer each passing week.

What’s the story?

The 19-year-old has impressed this season and Neil Lennon confirmed he was in attendance at Paris FC’s match last weekend.

According to Calciomercato, Celtic have offered £4.5m for Wamangituka.

As it stands Odsonne Edouard is their only recognised striker and though he has 14 goals this season, Celtic need more options up front if they are to see off the challenge from Rangers next season.

That man however, will not be Wamangituka, who has scored nine goals in 27 appearances in Ligue 2, at least if Lennon is to be believed.

“It wasn’t him,” Lennon said after the Kilmarnock win. “But we are looking at players.

“And centre-forward is a position I would look at.”

Could and should it happen?

It seems Lennon is planning for next season even though there is no guarantee of him being Celtic manager next season.

And while Wamangituka is still young, his scoring record in a pretty poor league is not great and though Celtic are desperate for a striker they can definitely do better than the 19-year-old.

Pressure is growing on Celtic’s board to get some reinforcements in however after comments made by Hoops legend Chris Sutton criticising Celtic for been a “one-trick-pony.”

The ex-Bhoy was lamenting the fact that outside of Edouard the options up front are very limited, and Wamangituka’s power at 6 ft 2 would certainly offer something a little different.

Wednesday’s defeat to Peterborough was a damming one for Portsmouth in more ways than one.

The 3-2 loss not only handed Luton Town and Barnsley the two automatic promotion spots in the League One table but also severally reduced Portsmouth’s chances of making it to the Championship entirely.

Kenny Jackett will be hoping his side can finish third in the table and face off against Doncaster Rovers in the League One play-offs, and Pompey fans know that failure to gain promotion would have a ripple effect on the club that will damage them for next season, mainly star players wanting to jump ship to better clubs, with one of those names likely to be Jamal Lowe.

The 24-year-old winger has been one of Pompey’s best players this season and one of the most dangerous attackers in League One, scoring 15 goals and assisting eight as Lowe has been one of the driving forces behind Portsmouth’s incredible push for promotion, but another season in the division won’t stand.

Lowe is a player who is ready for the step up to the Championship and has even been praised by his teammates as a player who could become a Premier League star one day, and Portsmouth will have no power to stop him from leaving should they fail to make promotion this season.

Reaching the Championship will surely be enough for Lowe to stay at the club, and for the long-term future of Portsmouth, the winger staying and helping the team to success can be achieved if they are promoted.

أكد هاني زادة عضو مجلس إدارة نادي الزمالك، أن الجهاز الطبي للأبيض بقيادة الدكتور محمد أسامة يبذل مجهودًا كبيرًا مع محمود الونش مدافع الفريق من أجل تجهيزه.

وتأهل الزمالك إلى نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا، بعدما فاز على الرجاء المغربي، بنتيجة 4/1، حيث انتهى لقاء الذهاب في المغرب بفوز الأبيض بهدف دون رد، فيما فاز في مباراة العودة بثلاثة أهداف مقابل هدف.

Portuguese outlet A Bola have reported that Islam Slimani could leave Leicester to rejoin Sporting Lisbon in the summer.

The report claims that the Liga NOS outfit have been in contact with the Foxes over a possible loan move, involving an option to buy at the end of it.

Slimani has endured a torrid spell with Leicester, scoring just 13 times after a club-record switch in 2016.

The Algerian international has spent the current 2018/19 term with Fenerbahce but again has struggled for goals, scoring just once in the league.

There is a huge doubt that the Foxes will return much of the £29m they spent on the player three years ago but given his performances it’s unlikely the club will care too much.

With another possible switch away in the offering, Football FanCast writers have given their verdicts on whether the 6 ft 2 forward deserves another chance at the King Power. Check out what they said below.

Jack Saville:

“Slimani has been one the biggest transfer blunders in Leicester’s history and there is absolutely no chance he should stay at the club. His style is antithetical to Brendan Rodgers’ philosophy and it would take a minor miracle for him to play his way back into the first-team at this stage. This one is a no brainer: he is finished at the King Power.”

Luke Glanville:

“Leicester City have made some atrocious signings in the last couple of years and Islam Slimani is very much one of those. The Algerian has been given plenty of opportunities at the King Power Stadium and not nearly been consistent enough, also failing to impress out on loan. The Foxes need to move forward under Brendan Rodgers and to do that, deadwood like Slimani has to be sold. Leicester should not give the 30-year-old a second chance.”

Harry Sherlock:

“Islam Slimani isn’t good enough for Leicester. He’s 30 and there’s absolutely no chance of him improving at this stage. The Foxes aren’t the richest club in England but they have a fair transfer budget and there has to be better out there this summer. In fact, it should be a priority; Leicester need to replace him, not debate giving him another chance.”

كشفت تقارير صحفية موقف ثلاثي مانشستر سيتي من التواجد في مباراة توتنهام هوتسبير بالدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

مانشستر سيتي لا يخوض أي مباريات منذ يوم الأحد الماضي، ويستمر الفريق في ذلك حتى 20 من الشهر الجاري، بسبب فترة التوقف الدولية.

وبعد نهاية فترة التوقف الدولية يحل ضيفًا على توتنهام السبت 21 نوفمبر من الشهر الجاري على ملعب “توتنهام”، ضمن لقاءات الجولة التاسعة من البريميرليج.

وأوضحت الشبكة، موقف الدولي الأرجنتيني، سيرجيو أجويرو، مُهاجم الفريق من التواجد في المباراة، مؤكدة أنّ أجويرو سينضم إلى التدريبات الجماعية هذا الأسبوع؛ وبالتالي سيكون جاهزًا لمباراة توتنهام.

أجويرو غاب عن الملاعب منذ شهر يونيو الماضي بسبب تعرضه لإصابة قوية في الركبة وخضوعه لعملية جراحية.

ثم تعرض النجم الأرجنتيني لإصابة في أوتار الركبة في مباراة وست هام، أجبرته على الغياب عن مباريات، مارسيليا، شيفيلد يونايتد، أولمبياكوس، وليفربول.

Arsenal supporters on Twitter have been surprisingly receptive to the prospect of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang departing north London for PSG this summer.

BBC reporter David Ornstein has reported that PSG manager Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring the Gabonese striker to Paris although the Gunners are likely to rebuff any offers and keep their star forward.

After signing from Borussia Dortmund for more than £57m last January, Aubameyang has gone on to score 32 Premier League goals including 22 strikes this campaign, enough to share the Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Despite Aubameyang’s goalscoring prowess, Arsenal could only manage a fifth-placed finish and need to beat Chelsea in the Europa League final on May 29 in Baku to secure Champions League football.

Another season of Europa League football would see Unai Emery handed a limited transfer budget and would likely require additional sales to fund a considerable summer overhaul.

At 29 years of age, Aubameyang’s value is set to decrease in the coming years leaving Arsenal with a difficult decision to make this summer should a big money bid from the French champions materialise.

With Alexandre Lacazette also on the books and weaknesses in defence and midfield, Arsenal fans have shown a surprising amount of support for cashing in on Aubameyang – although Ornstein claims the club intend to turn down any approaches.

We get it, it can be hard to look beyond the Champions League final. However, that does not appear to have any bearing on transfer rumours and the fact that Tottenham Hotspur’s name continues to be thrown about.

Winning Europe’s elite tournament would certainly be a crowning achievement for Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino; it is for any club.

However, it can also provide the team with an opportunity to make themselves a serious player in the transfer market and convince a number of footballers to join them, rather than any other potential suitors they may have on the cards. Let’s face it, we all know Champions League football talks but playing for the winners, well that is something else!

As with all sides in the summer, strengthening the squad becomes somewhat of a priority and Tottenham must ensure they do that this time around. None of last year’s shenanigans please!

And, one man that is thought to have piqued the interest of Spurs would have to be considered an excellent target and one Daniel Levy should look to bring to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

According to a report by El Desmarque on Tuesday evening, Tottenham are thought to be interested in Real Madrid outcast Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard has played just an hour of football in his last eight games under Zinedine Zidane; if that does not signify that your time is up, we do not know what else will.

However, the interesting part of the report from the Spanish media outlet is that it claims Spurs will be willing to pay between €40million and €50million (£35.1m and £44m) to take him off Los Blancos’ hands amid interest from arch-rivals Arsenal and Juventus.

Tottenham, well Mr Levy, is not exactly known for putting up that amount of money to sign a player, so it remains to be seen if he will.

However, that aside, Spurs would be getting an excellent footballer in Ceballos and one that they must seriously think about acquiring.

A versatile midfielder, Ceballos can be rather reliable in the deeper areas of the field with his defensive capabilities as he is a strong tackler, whilst he can also be utilised further forward. He has an exceptional passing ability when playing the ball to his team-mates, whilst his finishing has started to improve as he plays more regularly. He is comfortable on the ball as the Spaniard likes to dribble with it at his feet, whilst he can also be quite safe in possession.

The 22-year-old would add more creativity to the side as they have had to rely on the likes of Christian Eriksen to provide them with all the imagination over the last few years.
