A century from Shadman Islam put Bangladesh A in charge on the second day of the unofficial Test against Ireland A in Sylhet. The home side finished with a lead of 67 at stumps, having posted 322 for six in the 103 overs of their first innings.Resuming on an overnight score of 22, Shadman struck 15 fours in his 108 off 219 balls, staying at the crease for close to five-and-a-half hours. He added 137 for the second wicket with captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who made a 135-ball 69. Shadman added a further 69 with Yasir Ali Chowdhury (35) for the fourth wicket before falling in the 82nd over of the innings.Wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan scored his 16th first-class fifty, anchoring a 66-run stand with Mahedi Hasan (35) for the sixth wicket. According to The Daily Mail, West Ham United have had a £30 million bid accepted for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, who is now mulling over whether to take the Hammers up on their offer and move to the London Stadium.
David Moyes would consider appointing Maguire as club captain following the departure of Declan Rice to Arsenal; however, the England international could yet look to stay on at Manchester United or explore other available opportunities to further his career.
In light of the speculation surrounding Maguire's future, Manchester United have drawn up a four-man shortlist to replace the 30-year-old this summer, which includes Benjamin Pavard of Bayern Munich, Crystal Palace stopper Marc Guehi, Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo and Bayer Leverkusen's Edmond Tapsoba, as per the same outlet.
Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has recently delivered an update regarding £83k-a-week earner Pavard's chances of securing a move to Old Trafford, stating on Twitter X: "Man Utd, at this stage the favorite in the poker for Benjamin Pavard! Pavard can really imagine to join MUFC as Ten Hag wants him. Concrete talks are ongoing and positive. Price valuation: Around €30m. Tuchel wants to keep him. Pavard wants to leave Bayern. Would be a massive loss for the club."
Pavard featured 43 times in all competitions for Bayern Munich last term, registering seven goals and one assist in the process, as per Transfermarkt.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, transfer insider Jones has indicated that Pavard is top of Manchester United's list of potential recruits to strengthen the heart of their backline.
Jones stated: “Manchester United have been hoping that Harry Maguire would become open to this move, but obviously it’s out of their hands how much West Ham United can offer him and the buying club have to be a little careful not to rattle current important members of their squad with the personal terms they are putting to Maguire.
“It does impact them though because of Maguire looking after his own needs, and we all know the good terms he has been on at United, so those issues are just being tied up at both ends. The links to a new centre back have been long-standing, and they have seen other targets like Disasi pass them by, but there is little they could do because it was always going to take a domino effect for them to be able to step up their interest levels with any of the key targets.
“Pavard is such an interesting development in terms of this because there has been no serious mention of it before now. I think a lot of that was that they couldn’t be active and also knew that Manchester City wanted him if Kyle Walker left. The door is still open for them here though, so they have been able to sneak in and are trying to work out the financials around whether that deal is feasible. My information is that they would now choose him ideally over someone like Edmond Tapsoba or Jean-Clair Todibo, but obviously the scouting reports on those two are fully complete and strong.
“Todibo in particular I have always been told is a very key target, so it’s interesting if they decide to totally dismiss that one now. Pavard has a level of experience and establishment in the game that United like very much and the fact he is so adaptable will be a real asset to Ten Hag. The latest update is that United are very hopeful rather than confident on this but the fact they have been able to even seriously consider it is positive, and the player has indicated that he would like the move.”

Manchester United will open their Premier League account at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday and will be keen to showcase their credentials as potential title winners this term, as per Sky Sports.

How good is Kieran Tierney?
The Scottish defender, who has been touted at as high as £35m this summer, has lost his place at the Emirates Stadium and started only six times in the Premier League last term, but is unquestionably a talented and dynamic option.
Indeed, as per FBref, the 38-cap international ranks among the top 22% of full-backs across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for passes attempted, the top 18% for progressive passes and the top 21% for progressive carries per 90, highlighting the added dimension that would be injected into the Toon fold.
Burn, naturally a central defender, has been immense in the left-back role over the past year, described as an "absolute brick wall" by journalist Aaron Stokes and ranking among the top 5% of full-backs for clearances and the top 2% for aerial wins per 90.

Newcastle need this divergence in style down the left flank to continue to stifle opposition and maintain their multi-faceted approach, and while recent news has also linked Chelsea starlet Lewis Hall with a loan move to St. James' Park, Tierney is the man for the job.
Hall, aged just 18, enjoyed an impressive breakout season with the struggling Blues last year, racking up nine Premier League appearances and earning praise for his "quality" by former manager Frank Lampard.
To his credit, Hall ranks among the top 5% of full-backs for shot-creating actions, the top 16% for successful take-ons, the top 5% for tackles and the top 10% for interceptions per 90, clearly highlighting his differing skill set to Burn, but if signing Tierney on loan and paying his £110k-per-week wages – or at least a portion of it – keeps Newcastle on the right side of the FFP line, he is the signature to procure.
Tierney, described as a "warrior" by left-back legend Ashley Cole, also boasts far more experience in the Premier League, is a seasoned international and has won titles with Scottish giants Celtic, and for this reason, he would be the perfect fit to strengthen the ambitious and quickly-rising Magpies as they re-enter European competition and now look to close in on silverware.

O ataque foi o setor que Kalou teve maior influência. Era comum que Kalou saísse do lado direito e aparecesse no meio, fazendo um movimento em diagonal. O mapa do marfinense abria espaço para avanços de Kevin nas costas de William Matheus, lateral do Coritiba, e aumentava a produção do Botafogo no setor central do ataque. Os outros jogadores de ataque do Glorioso, contudo, não acompanharam a produção do camisa 8.
Kalou deu dois passes que geraram finalizações, uma obrigando Wilson a fazer boa defesa em chute de Bruno Nazário. Mesmo em um jogo e com pouco mais de duas semanas de treinamento com o elenco do Botafogo, o marfinense melhorou – mesmo que apenas pelos seus próprios movimentos – a produção ofensiva do Alvinegro. Rohit Sharma’s template in ODIs isn’t complicated: watchful in the first 10 overs, accumulation in the next 30 overs, and a belligerent assault in the last 10. Sri Lanka knew all about it, having conceded 264 to him in Kolkata three years ago, but he reminded them again in terrific batting conditions in Mohali. He razed his way to his third double-century in ODIs to launch India to 392 for 4, helping India level the series with a 141-run drubbing.Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer gave Rohit able company with rapid half-centuries, as India posted their 100th 300-plus total in ODIs. Angelo Mathews led Sri Lanka’s losing battle with a fighting hundred, his second in ODIs, but just like AB de Villiers’ 114 against India in Gwalior in 2010, it didn’t take much away from a stunning double-hundred.Given Mohali’s large boundaries, Sri Lanka’s response to Rohit was to take pace off the ball and try bowling short. It didn’t work. Sri Lanka’s end-overs specialists Suranga Lakmal and Nuwan Pradeep then tried firing in wide yorkers. It didn’t work. Straight yorkers? Nope. Dhawan sits back and waits for bowlers to err on the short side, and Rohit favours the fuller length when they compensate. For 10 overs, Sri Lanka found the perfect length in-between.As fatigue crept in and new bowlers took time to settle, they erred too often. India’s run-rate rose from a little over three to above five in a few overs thereafter. Upul Tharanga slapped a catch to cover and Danushka Gunathilaka was strangled down the leg side. Lahiru Thirimanne’s horror form continued, managing just 21 runs off 34 balls before attempting a premeditated reverse-sweep off debutant Washington Sundar, who struck off his ninth ball in ODIs.Sri Lanka’s middle order, led by Mathews, batted with intent and aggression. Niroshan Dickwella and Asela Gunaratne contributed brisk cameos, but were dismissed trying to keep up with an asking rate that soared past 10 runs per over with more than half the innings remaining.When he could, Mathews stepped out to hit over the in-field. When he couldn’t, he used his wrists and bottom hand to wriggle out runs on the leg side. He hit 72 of his unbeaten 111 on the leg side, accounting for 65% of his runs.
